Parents Get Coding!

Wish you could help your children with their coding homework? This hands-on workshop will have you building games and apps in Scratch in just a couple of hours.

Shock you children with your programming skills and discover the key concepts covered in the national curriculum for key stages one to three, so you can guide them to success in their computing education.

What’s covered?

  • Scratch fundamentals

  • Sequence, selection, and repetition, and their importance within the curriculum

  • Creative ways to get your children excited about coding

  • A variety of programming challenges to complete at the workshop

  • A workbook of creative games to build with your children at home

This workshop is for absolute beginners and taught by D-Lab Program Director Ed Fish. Ed has over three years experience teaching creative coding to all ages and until recently ran local coding clubs as Rocket Coders. Prior to this, Ed was head of Technology and Development at an ed-tech start-up, working with primary schools to make their computer science courses more creative and engaging for students.
