About the instructor
Louise Salter
Entering the film industry as an actress, Louise led in award-winning short films whilst developing her skills as a creative producer. In 2017, Louise co-created, produced and led alongside Scottish BAFTA-winner Sophie Kennedy Clark in her sci-fi short film, “How to be Human”. The film screened at international and BAFTA-qualifying festivals including Sitges, Raindance, Encounters, inside the Museum of Mexico City and at Miami International, where it won “best sci-fi” and Louise “best actress”. Following its success, How to be Human secured worldwide distribution via DUST and attracted investment for a slate of feature-length projects to be developed under Louise’s production company, Slowcooked. Louise has been selected for BAFTA Crew 2021, is a tutor at Cambridge University on the Writing for Performance MA, a mentor to students on the Raindance Postgraduate Film MA programme, on the jury of the EMIFF 48 hour film competition, recognised as an Ethical Influencer and regarded by the BAFTA Albert Consortium as a Carbon Literate filmmaker.
