More information and bookings

Join D-Lab for a hands-on evening of 3D printing where we’ll be showing you how to design and print your ideas on our new Up-Mini 2 3D printers.

Covered in the workshop:

  • Designing basic models using Autodesk TinkerCad
  • A review of more advanced design software such as Fusion 360
  • Where to find and download existing 3D models
  • How to use slicing software for preparing 3D models for printing
  • Advantages and disadvantages of various filaments
  • How to load filament and print your model
  • Finishing techniques

Following the workshop you’ll have an excellent understanding of the 3D printing process from initial design to finishing techniques and be qualified to come and use the printers at D-Lab in the future without any further induction.

Under 16’s are welcome if accompanied by a participating / ticketed adult

Please note - As you will discover on the course - 3D printing is a slow manufacturing process and as such your models may still be printing at the end of the workshop. If your model has not finished printing by the end of the workshop you are welcome to pick it up at an arranged time or we can post it to you for an additional fee of £5.

Please bring a laptop with you to the workshop with a working web browser.
